Hawks Win Boys Hockey Return
The Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks defeated the UCC Lancers in the return to KCSSAA boys high school hockey.
The game, which with the win, sends the CKSS Golden Hawks to a SWOSSAA game, was only the fifth played by each team this season due to the Ontario government and teacher union’s labour dispute.
Blake Padbury had a four point night, including two goals and two assists to lead the Golden Hawks. Lucas Stanhope also had two goals in the 7-4 CKSS win. Other CKSS Golden Hawks goals came from Trevor Niven, who added two assists as well, Nolan Smith, and Sam McPherson.
Tyler Udvari had two goals and an assist for the UCC Lancers, while Keenan Clark had one goal.
Other high school sports are expected to restart in the coming days, with most returning in March.
