Vanderiviere Keeps Streak Alive
For the third straight week, Merlin’s Eren Vanderiviere found himself in the winners circle after another exciting night of racing at South Buxton Raceway.
Vanderiviere took the lead in the Windride Transportation Sport Stocks in the seventh lap and never looked back, holding off a late charge from Wheatley’s Steve Clements who finished second. Wallaceburg’s Willy Vyse was third. Vanderiviere is the two-time defending season champion in the Sport Stocks division.
In the Tirecraft Mini-Mods, Denis DeSerrano continued his strong season, taking the checkered flag for the fourth time this year. Chatham’s Rick Balasin and Blenheim’s Trevor Jones followed DeSerrano across the finish line.
Dale Glassford won for the second straight week in the Lube Tech/Great Canadian Oil Change UMP Late Models division with Chatham’s Brad Authier and Jim Jones finishing second and third respectively.
Joel Dick also continued to win, taking the victory in the Schinkels Meats UMP Late Models feature. Jeff Daniels of Chatham was second, while Essex’s Gerald Martin was third.
Blenheim’s Luke Small won the bombers division, while Tim Anderson of Port Colborne took the night’s special race, the TUSA Canadian West Region Mod-Lites.
