Local Fighters Win At TXC

Gracie-Barra-Chatham-TXC-2013On August 24, three Gracie Barra Chatham fighters fought at TXC in Waterford, Michigan. David Dalymple and Nate Ledger both won their bouts, keeping perfect records.

David Dalrymple improved his record to 3-0 at 155 lbs after defeating Ryan Cooper (2-1), fighting out of Absolute Combat in Michigan. The fight started with a quick trade of hands before Dalrymple landed a takedown, achieving mount, then finishing the fight by TKO near the end of first round.

Nate Ledger made his debut MMA fight at 125 lbs against more experienced fighter Dee Evens, fighting out of True Fighter in Michigan. Ledger controlled the stand up from the start, but Evans landed a takedown in the 1st round keeping his position, but was unable to land any good shots due to Ledger’s scrambles and good ground control. The second round started out the same standing with Evans landing the takedown, but early in 2nd round Ledger was able to put Evans in an armbar, ending the fight and winning his debut, bringing him to 1-0 record.

Craig Arnel (2-2) was the co-main event against Ryan Smith (9-2), fighting out of True Fighter in Michigan. Arnel, preparing to fight at 145 lbs, lost his match up the day before the fight when TXC matched him up at 155 slb. Arnel took the challenge up a weight class, but unfortunately took the loss due to kimora/shoulder lock in the middle of the 1st round.

Next up for Gracie Barra Chatham, Josh “The Ripper” Rich is set to fight Derick Mandell, a tough wrestling style MMA fighter out of Michigan, for his first Pro MMA bout on October 19. Nick Whittal is set for his 170 lbs TXC Title defence November 9 along with a few other teammates.
