Whitson Golden Again With Canada
Adam Dixon, Greg Westlake, and Bill Bridges scored for Canada in a 3-1 gold medal victory over the United States in Toronto.
Canada finished the tournament with a perfect 5-0 record, with Whitson patrolling the blueline in each game. He picked up his lone point, an assist, in Canada’s 5-2 win to open the tournament against Korea.
Canada also won the IPC World Sledge Hockey Championships this past April.
As the final tournament tune up before the 2014 Paralympics in Sochi, Russia, the win makes Canada the favouite heading to Russia. In January, Canada will play a three game exhibition match against the United States in North Carolina, in preparation for the Games in Sochi.
