Cannella Medals On Day Two Of OFSAA

Chatham’s Quinn Cannella was the second Kent athlete to medal at the 2014 OFSAA track and field championships.

Cannella, placed third in the Junior boys 1500m race, crossing the line in 4:03.08, good for a bronze medal. His medal came a day after Pain Court’s Morgan Desjardins won OFSAA gold in the Junior girls Shot Put.

Cannella, a grade 10 student at Chatham-Kent Secondary School, was the only local athlete to medal on the second day of OFSAA competition, however several other local athletes were in action.

From CKSS, Josh Kellier finished 5th in the 2000m open boys steeplechase, while his sister, Rayne Kellier was 8th in Junior girls high jump. Felix Marchand finished 11th in Junior boys 100m hurdles, while Erin Young was 12th in Junior girls long jump.

From John McGregor, thrower Anthony Atkinson was 11th in midget boys shot put.
