Two Chatham-Kent pairs teams captured LKSSAA tennis titles Wednesday at the first ever Lambton-Kent Secondary School Athletic Association championship tournament.

John McGregor Panthers mixed doubles team Darby Barnard and Nick Vander Paelt defeated Northern’s Keli Grant and Raj Dighe to win the LKSSAA tennis mixed double title. Chatham-Kent Secondary School’s Lee Kucera and Julie Earle were third.

In Boys Doubles, Chatham-Kent Secondary School’s Josh Ashby and Evan Thibert defeated JMSS’ Sam Wilcox and Tanner Goldsmith for the LKSSAA title.

CKSS’ Aiden Poole fell to Northern’s Andrew Davies in the boys singles final, with JMSS’ Justin Baker finishing third, while fellow JMSS tennis player Laura Polowick was third in girls singles.

JMSS and CKSS tied for second in the overall team standings, with Sarnia St. Patricks finishing first.
