Ian Smart Headed To Windsor
Smart, a Chatham-Kent Secondary School product was the Dave Allin Award winner this season as the Kent men’s basketball MVP.
“I chose Windsor because I feel it will provide me with a great opportunity to play on a very good team with very good players in a system and playing style that I’m well suited for under one of the most successful coaches in the country in recent years,” said Smart.
“Windsor also meets my academic requirements. The biggest thing I’m looking forward to is the opportunity to play with high level OUA players,” added Smart, who plans to study business at Windsor.
Smart was integral in the CKSS Golden Hawks winning the first ever LKSSAA championship this year as the 6-foot-6 forward averaged almost 19-points per game, and over 10-rebounds all season, including an 18-point, 17-rebound performance in the LKSSAA final against St. Patrick’s.
Smart also has multiple OFSAA medals in volleyball, a sport he dominated in while playing at CKSS.
