CKXS-Morning-Sports-BriefsIt’s game 2 of the Jr C Quarterfinals tonight.  The Dresden Jr Kings host the Blenheim Blades, down 1 game to none, in Dresden.  you can hear all the action starting with the pre-game show at 7:20.  One other Quarterfinal match up tonight the Essex 73’s taking their 1 game to none lead into Alvinston to face the Flyers.

The La Salle Vipers continue to win as they downed the Sarnia Legionnaires 3-1 last night in Jr B play.  The London Nationals doubled up Leamington 2-1.  The Chatham Maroons are in St Mary’s to play the Lincolns.

Wallaceburg native Brady Pataki has been named the OHL Central Division Academic player of the month. The Sudbury Wolves right-winger did not hit the score sheets last night as the Wolves went down to the Windsor Spitfires 6-1.  Trent Fox of Thamesville picked up the lone marker for the Hamilton Bulldogs in a 4-1 loss to the Peterborough Petes.  The Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds dumped the North Bay Battalion 5-2.

The Wallaceburg Tartans were given a very nice gift from the NFL, a golden football.  Pittsburgh Steeler Shawn Suisham was a former Tartan.  Everyone is getting ready for Super Bowl 50 with Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers facing Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

The CFL trade deadline is on Tuesday.  Many are wondering about the future of Slot Back, Andy Fantuz.  Insiders are saying that Fantuz have to take a pay cut if he wants to stay in Hamilton with the Ti-Cats.
