April 8 Sports Update

CKXS-Morning-Sports-Briefs2 local boys have been named to the AHL All Star team.  Seth Griffith and Brandon Montour will be suiting up for the All Star Game.

TJ Brodie assisted on the first goal and then the Flames fanned the fire and dumped the Vancouver Canucks 7-3 in the NHL last night.

The Barrie Colts take game 1 in their OHL playoff series with the North Bay Battalion.  A 5-2 win for the Colts opens up round 2, the two teams meet again on Monday night in Barrie.  Niagara with a 3-1 win over Kingston to open up their series, the 2 teams are back at it tonight in Kingston for game 2.  The Soo Greyhounds open up their second round series against the Erie Otters tonight and the London Knights will host Kitchener to open up their series

The OHL Draft is this weekend

Wallaceburg’s own Madison Broad will be swimming in the 200 meter backstroke at the Olympic time trials in Scarborough this weekend.

The Kent County Fillies Bantam Basketball team is off to the Provincial Finals this weekend.

The Vancouver Stealth will face the Calgary Roughnecks in NLL action on Saturday.
