Lancers Win LKSSAA Junior Football Title
After a slow start for both teams, UCC exploded in the second quarter, scoring four touchdowns en route to a 35-21 win.
UCC quarterback Jonathan Cartier led the way for the Lancers, rushing for two touchdowns, and passing for one in the win. He ran for a 9- and 25-yard TD in the game, and hit Derek Harvieux with a 63-yard TD pass for another score.
Rick Oh and Tyler Warriner rushed for the other UCC touchdowns.
CKSS tried to start a comeback in the second half, as Garette Stonefish ran for 33- and 2-yard touchdowns, and Braydon Turato caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from QB Jordan Wright, but it wasn’t enough for the Golden Hawks.
Next year, Junior football will be moving to the Fall to coincide with the Lambton schedule.
