Locals Win Doubles Titles At LKSSAA

Chatham-Kent Secondary School’s Josh Ashby and Evan Thibert, and John McGregor’s Reese Parks and Alison Rae were local winners at the LKSSAA tennis championships Wednesday in Chatham.

For Ashby and Thibert, it was their third consecutive title. The CKSS boys won the boys doubles title game 8-1 against UCC’s Jakob Wanger and Nic Teeuwen.

Parks and Rae beat CKSS’ Sydney Sabourin and Rhea Van Helden 8-2 in the girls doubles final.

Other top local finishers include Ryan Baker of JMSS, who was second in boys singles, and Rachel Carleton and Josh Kewley, who were second in mixed doubles.

Sarnia Northern won the team title, edging second place JMSS, and CKSS who finished third.

SWOSSAA is next week in Sarnia. The top 4 from each division advance.
