Hawks Show Their Pride In Win
The Hawks were also celebrating inclusivity in their first annual “Pride Game,” standing up as allies for their fellow students, teammates, and community. The team donned rainbow Pride Tape on their sticks and helmets to make a statement that the team values respect and inclusion, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.
“We just wanted to show how important it is to accept and support everyone no matter who you are,” said CKSS captain Sydney Sabourin. “It was a great experience for our team to participate in something so meaningful.”
In the game, Emma Doom paced the Hawks with a goal and 3 assists. Linemates Payton Sabourin and Sydney Sabourin had a goal and 2 assists, and a goal and an assist respectively.
Hailey Johnson scored a pair, while CKSS also got goals from Kirsten Horney, Shayna Daly, Ryanne Logan, and Brook-Lyn Phelan. Maia Collins had two assists, while Marandee Hunter took the win in net.
Megan Morehouse scored the lone goal for the Cardinals with Kasidy Dewulf assisting.
