Ladd Taking Part in OHL Combine
Chatham-Kent Cyclones defenseman Grayson Ladd will take part in the 2017 OHL Development Combine this weekend at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, Ontario.
The annual combine will offer Ontario Hockey League scouts and personnel a first hand look at 77 players born in 2001 who were invited to this year’s event.
“This year’s OHL Combine will feature an improved and advanced use of technology,” said Joe Birch, OHL Senior Director of Player Development and Special Events in an OHL news release. “By collecting more data that measures elements such as power, velocity, agility, and strength, we can better assist the players in their own personal development while providing more resources for evaluation by OHL member teams.”
The Combine features off ice fitness testing, on ice skills practice and testing, as well as scrimmages.
Ladd, one of 25 defenceman in attendance, will skate with Team Stamkos (Blue).
The defenseman had 17 points in 37 games for the Chatham-Kent Cyclones this season, and added a goal and an assist in 7 games with the GOJHL’s Chatham Maroons.
Ladd is expected to be a top two round selection int he OHL Priority Selection, which will take place Saturday, April 8, 2017.
