If the 2017-2018 Chatham Maroons roster is hoping to have a stronger 2018-2019, all they have to do is look at last year’s Maroons roster, and see the group of players having excellent campaigns.

Devin Panzeca is scoring at a torrid pace in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) with the East Coast Wizards, notching 32 goals and 69 points through 34 games. Panzeca played the first 5 games in the NAHL with the Amarillo Bulls. Panzeca spent parts of the past two seasons with Chatham. Panzeca’s totals put him in 3rd for goals, and 2nd for points in the league.

A pair of Maroons alumni, Teddy McGeen and Brendan D’Agostino are both having above point-per-game campaigns in the Junior A OJHL.

D’Agostino has 47 points in 44 games for the Georgetown Raiders, while McGeen, who also saw time with the Blenheim Blades locally, has 43 points in 39 games for the Wellington Dukes.

Defenseman Michael Douglas who opened the season in the AJHL, has had a strong year with the the Junior A Pembroke Lumber Kings of the CCHL, scoring 15 points in 27 points.

At the Major Junior level, defenseman Braden Henderson has 7 assists split between the Sarnia Sting and North Bay Battalion. Fellow defender Jack Duff has 5 assists in 45 games for the OHL’s Erie Otters.

Kevin Gursoy has 10 goals and 13 points in 42 games for the QMJHL’s Saint John Sea Dogs.

Several other Maroons graduates from last season, Alec MacKenzie, Cale Markham, Austin Thompson, Cole Dezainde, and Cory Bussing are playing at the NCAA D3 and ACHA levels this season.
