Grayson Ladd Passed Over In NHL Draft
Grayson Ladd did not hear his name called Friday or Saturday in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
The six-foot-one defender from Kent Bridge, has battled injury and circumstance since entering the Ontario Hockey League as the 13th overall selection.
From his 2017 OHL draft class, only two eligible players ahead of Ladd, Tag Bertuzzi and Cody Morgan were not selected in the NHL draft. As well, four of the players selected ahead of Ladd in the OHL draft, became NHL first round picks Friday, as did Thomas Harley, who was selected one pick after Ladd in 2017.
Ladd had 2 goals and 18 points in 48 games for the Windsor Spitfires this season.
He will be eligible again for the NHL Draft next season.
Jack Hughes was selected first overall in the NHL Draft Friday night by the New Jersey Devils.
