Former Maroon Garcia Headed To NCAA’s Westfield State

Former Chatham Maroons defenceman Dawson Garcia will play NCAA Division III hockey next season for Westfield State University.

Garcia spent a season and a half with the Chatham Maroons from 2017-2019.

Garcia, who hails from Oakville and played his minor hockey in Burlington, spent last season with the GOJHL’s Kitchener Dutchmen where he scored a career high 39 points, playing 48 games.

Although he is committed to Westfield State, Garcia is unlikely to step on the ice until 2021, as the conference which Westfield plays in has cancelled Fall sports due to COVID-19.
