Inductees announced for Chatham Sports Hall of Fame

Four new names are being added to the Chatham Sports Hall of Fame.

The class of 2023 includes sledge hockey Paralympian and national champion Derek Whitson as this year’s Modern Athlete.

Al Hinnegan, who played hockey for the University of Michigan and Western University before being hired as a salary arbitrator for the NHL, is being inducted in the Legend category.

Bruno Casanova enters the Hall as a Builder.

And the team honouree is the 1998-99 Major Atom AAA Cyclones.

The awards will be handed out on Thursday, September 28 at the Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham. Tickets go on sale on August 1.
