Schinkelshoek wins an OFSAA silver medal

Pain Court’s Gavin Schinkelshoek finished with a silver medal in the 100 freestyle open boys, at the OFSAA swim meet held earlier this week in Toronto.

Schinkelshoek, a Grade 10 student at Pain Court, set a personal-best 50.74 second in the open boys’ 100-metre freestyle final.

On the first day of the OFSAA swim meet, Schinkelshoek has the top time in the 100 open backstroke in the morning prelims to seed first going into the final. The final was a tight race with the first to fourth seeds less than 0.5 second apart. Nicholas Radjenovic, a graduating swimmer, won the gold.

The OFSAA swim meet was held at Toronto’s Pan Am Sports Complex.
