Sports Hall of Fame announces inductees

The Chatham Sports Hall of Fame announced their inductees for 2025 on July 18. The induction ceremony and dinner is scheduled to take place on Sept. 25.
Inductees include.

Melissa Bartlett Modern Athlete for Volleyball.
A member of the Canadian volleyball team and a volleyball star at Chatham-Kent Secondary School, Bartlett played college volleyball at Eastern Michigan University in 2004 and 2005 earning a Second Team All-Conference Award in the Mid-American Conference, part of NCAA Division I.
Bartlett continued that success at Hillsdale College in NCAA Division II, being named a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) First Team All-Conference player in 2006 and 2007 as well as the 2007 GLIAC Conference Player of the Year. She also received the a 2007 GLIAC Commissioners Award for Outstanding Student-Athlete as well as being named a 2007 NCAA and Daktronics First Team All-American.
Following her university career Bartlett joined the professional ranks in Spain playing for the Algar Surmenor Women’s Volleyball Team in Cartagena.
Bartlett has coached the Western Mustang women’s volleyball team for the past 12 years.

Alan Cattrysse Modern Athlete
A four-year member of the Michigan State Spartans, Cattrysse is among the team’s career statistical leaders. Afte r his days in East Lansing, Cattrysse played in the Intercounty Baseball League with London for three years.
An outstanding volleyball and basketball at John McGregor Secondary School, Cattrysse is an active outdoorsman and competitive bass fisherman.

Arnie Robbins Athlete Legend. Several Sports.
An outstanding baseball player, Robbins was on the 1970 Kent Concrete senior baseball team that is inducted in the Chatham hall of fame’s team category. A winner, Robbins is part of nine Ontario baseball championship teams and two Canadian champions.
Robbins competed for 35 years in baseball, softball, and racquetball. He was captain of the McGregor Panthers football team in the 1960s. He has 16 racquetball club titles and competed across Canada and the United States.
Robbins is a retired educator and known for his impact on the Chatham community.

Peter Cobb -Builder / Broadcaster.
The voice of Chatham-Kent sports, known for his positivity, knowledge, and passion.
A retired educator, Cobb played a big role in developing elementary school athletes and athletics. He is also known for his role in promoting local sports, through broadcasting in-person, on local television and on the internet. He has also been a familiar face emceeing local events.
When he isn’t putting long hours volunteering with local sports, Cobb also finds time on the weekends in the fall to be the voice of Guelph Gryphons football.

1992 CKSS Girls vollyball team
The team was dominant on their way to winning OFSAA gold. They won SWOSSAA, giving up only 12 points total, and went undefeated at OFSAA to win gold.
