Chatham Maroons assistant coach Brennan Feasey has been promoted to head coach.

Feasey, a former Maroon player, takes over from Windsor’s Richard Santos, who guided the Maroons to their second Sutherland Cup in franchise history in May of this year. Santos, who just finished up his third year with the Maroons, was also the team’s general manager.

Santos is taking over the head coaching duties of BioSteel Sports Academy’s U16 Boys Prep team, following Kyle Makaric’s recent hiring as an assistant coach with the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League.

Makaric is also a former Chatham Maroon player.

Santos is also going to be an assistant coach with the OJHL’s Leamington Flyers.

“Richard’s championship experience, development-first mindset, and proven ability to advance talented young players make him a tremendous asset to our academy,” said Eric Palazzolo, Director of BioSteel Sports Academy.

Palazzolo is also a former Maroon player.
