Parks and Recreation open house being held tonight

Chatham-Kent residents are getting a look at plans for parks and recreation facilities around the municipality.
After a year of community consultation and research, a final open house is taking place at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre to go over details of the draft recommendations of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
The drop-in style event, which runs from 4:30pm until 7:30pm, features several presentation boards to provide an overview of the plans, a summary of engagement, recommendations for priority projects and policies, and a costing and implementation strategy.
Some of the highlights of the plan include a multi-use recreation centre near Chatham, a new ball diamond complex in South Kent, and developing park land on Wallaceburg’s south side.
The draft recommendations of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan will also be posted online following the event.
