Swimmers advance to SWOSSAA

Wallaceburg Tartans’ Malachi Owusu does the breaststroke during the junior boys’ 100-metre individual medley during the 2026 LKSSAA swimming championship held in Chatham on February 9.

Today, (February 17) the SWOSSAAA swimming championship takes place in Windsor. The OFSAA championship is also in Windsor March 3-4.

At the 2006 LKSSAA swimming championship held at the Chatham YMCA last week, Pain Court’s Gavin Schinkelshoek won three individual events while Patriotes teammates Harrison Walsh, Jack Harrigan and Xavier Caron each won two.

Wallaceburg’s Ruby Nethery and Dylan Kloet and Pain Court’s Payton Rinas won one apiece.

Pain Court won the junior boys’ 200 medley relay, as well as the junior 200 freestyle relay. the open boys’ 200 medley relay and the boys senior 200 freestyle relay.

Pain Court’s Sullivan Merilees had two second place finishes, and teammates Eric Qiu, Payton Rinas, Reid Caron each had one seond place finish, as did Wallaceburg’s Ava Lauwereys
