The Ursuline College Chatham (UCC) wrestling team rewrote the history books this week at the 2026 OFSAA Wrestling Championships in Peterborough. Sending a squad of five athletes, the Lancers achieved their most successful provincial performance to date, with three wrestlers reaching the top-six finals on March 3-4.

UCC walked away with a gold, silver, and antique bronze—marking the highest podium density in the school’s history:

GOLD – Landyn Bardoel (Boys’ 130 kg): In the highlight of the tournament, Bardoel secured a convincing victory in his final match to claim the provincial title. This is only the second OFSAA gold medal ever won by the UCC wrestling program. Landyn hopes to continue wrestling in university but has not decided where yet.

SILVER – Emmanuella Caleb (Girls’ 72 kg): Following up on her bronze last year, Caleb reached a new personal and school milestone by securing the first-ever OFSAA Silver medal in UCC history. Emmanuella also hopes to continue wrestling in university.

ANTIQUE BRONZE – Cameron Vollick (Boys’ 130 kg): After a stellar run through the bracket, Vollick battled to a fourth-place finish in Ontario, earning an antique bronze and cementing UCC’s dominance in the heavy-weight division. Cameron will wrestle his second year with UCC next season.

Anthony Parent (Boys’ 64 kg): Displayed some of the best technical wrestling of his career. Despite showing incredible ability on the mat, he came up just short of advancing to the final rounds in a crowded field.

Chris Demetrius (Grade 9): In his OFSAA debut, Demetrius went 0-2, but the rookie gained the experience needed for a long career ahead. He has already signaled he will be back next year “with a vengeance.”

UCC had 22 wrestlers attend LKSSAA, and 16 wrestlers attended SWOSSAA.
