Maroons start playoffs with a win

Using balanced scoring, the Chatham Maroons beat the St. Thomas Stars 6-4 on Sunday night at Chatham Memorial Arena.
The win gives the Maroons a 1-0 lead in their best-of-seven GOHL Western Conference quarter-final.
Ian Lachance, Ewan McChesney, Aidan Edwards, Santiago Jimenes, Boris Genov and Xandre Aitken scored for the Maroons.
The Stars jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. Chatham scored two goals in the first period and two more in the second, to jump out to a 4-2 lead heading into the third period.
Sammy DiBlasi made 29 saves in the Chatham net.
Game 2 is tonight in St. Thomas, Game 3 is Thursday in Chatham at 7 p.m. and Game 4 is Friday in St. Thomas.
