Pair of Chatham Thunder ringette teams finish season undefeated

Chatham Thunder FUN3 team went undefeated in 2025-26
The Chatham Thunder are celebrating an incredible finish to the season, as both the FUN3 and U16B teams captured gold medals at the Lower Ontario Ringette League (LORL) Championships this past weekend.
The FUN3 team capped off a historic and dominant season, finishing with an outstanding 36–0–1 record while capturing four gold medals throughout the year. Their growth, teamwork, and passion for the game were evident all season long, culminating in a gold medal performance at the championships.
The U16B team delivered a championship run that will not soon be forgotten. After going a perfect 4–0 in round robin play, Chatham advanced directly to the gold medal game against a strong Burlington squad.
In a thrilling final, Chatham found themselves trailing 2–1 with just 24 seconds remaining. With the pressure at its peak, #9 Mercy Wysman scored with only 16 seconds left on the clock to tie the game and force overtime.
Just four minutes into overtime, Paige DeJaegher sealed the victory, scoring the championship-winning goal and securing gold for the Chatham Thunder.
“This is a special moment for our association,” said a team representative. “To see both teams finish their seasons on top—and to do it in such dominant and dramatic fashion—speaks to the heart, resilience, and character of these athletes.”
The success of both teams highlights the continued growth of ringette in Chatham-Kent, fueled by dedicated athletes, supportive families, and committed coaches.
As the season comes to a close, the Chatham Thunder organization celebrates not only the championships, but the development, sportsmanship, and love of the game shown by all players throughout the year.
