U13 Wildcats earn provincial bronze

What a weekend. What a season. What a moment in Wildcats history.

The U13 Bantam Girls Wildcats made history this weekend, capturing a bronze medal at the Provincial Championships and earning recognition as the #3 ranked team in the province.

Competing at the Pan Am Centre in Toronto, the Wildcats battled through five intense games against top competition from across Ontario. They opened the tournament with a dominant showing, securing two impressive wins in pool play and setting the tone early. Their only pool loss came against Transway, who went on to claim the gold medal, proving just how high the level of competition was.

In the semi-finals, the Wildcats fought through a tight, hard-fought game but couldn’t pull out the win, as the shots just weren’t falling despite a strong effort on both ends of the court. Showing resilience, they bounced back in the bronze medal game with a big win over North Toronto Crazy Catz to secure their place on the podium.

This milestone moment is a reflection of an incredible season. The Wildcats finished with an outstanding 43–10 record, with all of their losses coming against top-tier OBLX teams. Their consistency, resilience, and work ethic have been evident from day one, and it all came together on the provincial stage.

This bronze medal marks a historic achievement, as this is the first Chatham Wildcats team to ever reach the podium at the Provincial Championships. All 14 girls played an important role on the team this year, and their coaches are incredibly proud of each and every one of them. A huge thank you goes out to the families and friends who supported the team every step of the way—through early mornings, long drives, and every game in between.

From start to finish, this season was filled with growth, determination, and unforgettable memories. The U13 Bantam Girls Wildcats have set a new standard and made their mark in Chatham basketball history.
