Ewald brothers win Schmalz Cup

Fergus Whalers captain Tyler Ewald
Chatham’s Tyler Ewald and Justin Ewald are Schmalz Cup champions with the Fergus Whalers.
The Whalers won the provincial Junior C championship this past weekend, beating Tavistock 4-1 in the best-of-seven series.
Justin had 24 points in 23 playoff games, while Tyler had 20 points in 23 games.
Tyler, who was in his last year of junior hockey, is the team’s captain, while Justin has two more years of junior eligiblity left.
The brothers now attend the Univesity of Guelph. They both previously played for the Blenheim Blades and attended Chatham-Kent Secondary School.
