U15 Wildcats win provincial championship

The team was coached by, left to right, Head Coach Shaphan Brown alongside Assistant Coaches Jesse Brown and Frank Parker as well as Junior Coach Aubree Brown.

The Chatham Wildcats U15 girls basketball team captured the 2026 Ontario Basketball OBLX U15 Girls Provincial Championship, becoming the first basketball team from Chatham-Kent to win an Ontario provincial championship at any age level.

The Wildcats beat Burlington 54-51 in overtime last weekend in Fonthill to capture the championship.

The Wildcats entered provincials with an impressive 10-2 record. Both losses were to Burlington.

The team advanced undefeated through pool play before battling a tough B1CE team in the semi-finals to earn a spot in the championship game.
