Maroons get some Hope

Brett Hope
The Chatham Maroons announced Brett Hope as their new head coach.
A Blenheim native, Hope replaces head coach Brennan Feasey, who resigned two weeks ago to be an assistant coach with the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack.
Hope had been coaching in the GOHL as the Komoka Kings head coach and was in his first season with the team. In a statement, the Maroons thanked the Komoka organization for their professionalism and co-operation throughout the process of hiring Hope away from Komoka.
In the GOHL transactions page, as of Tuesday night, there was no mention of any players or cash going to Komoka for their head coach.
Hope is a former Chatham Maroon and also played for St. Thomas before playing college hockey at Buffalo State and embarking on a minor professional hockey career.
Hope was previously an assistant coach with the Maroons for two years and for three years with his hometown Blenheim Blades. He also spent time coaching in the Chatham-Kent Cyclones AAA organization.
This year, his first with Komoka, the Kings were 4-12.
Hope is scheduled to make his debut as Maroons head coach this Sunday at home against Listowel.
