Ridgetown’s Mya Summers won the women’s individual title at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Provincial Golf Championships, which finished up on Sept. 30 at Fire Rock Golf Club in Komoka.

Summers, a first-year Police Foundations student, is the first Falcons women’s golfer to win the individual provincial title since 2018.

Summers’ performance over the three-day tournament was historic, as she broke the Falcon records for best two-day score (156) and best three-day score (240), while tying the record for best single-round score (78).

The Falcons women’s team captured a silver medal, the program’s first medal since 2019. Both Summers and teammate Ashton Clark (Blenheim), who placed sixth in the tournament, will represent the OCAA alongside the other top-six finishers at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Championships in Montreal later this month.

Clark is a first-year Medical Radiation Technology student.

Summers carded scores of 78, 78, and 84 for a three-day total of 240 (+21), as she led the tournament at the conclusion of each round en route to a wire-to-wire victory. Clark recorded rounds of 95, 86, and 92 for a three-day total of 273 (+54).

Summers and Clark are both former hockey teammates with the Chatham Kent Crush.
