Summers and Clark have strong debut seasons with Fanshawe

A pair of first-year golfers from Chatham-Kent powered the Fanshawe Falcons women’s golf team this past season.

Falcons golfers Mya Summers (Ridgetown) and Ashton Clark (Blenheim) competed at the CCAA Golf Championships from October 13-16 at Le Blainvillier Golf Club in Montreal, Quebec, hosted by Cégep André-Laurendeau.

Summers, the OCAA Women’s Golf Champion, finished tied for ninth, ending her phenomenal rookie season with yet another top-10 finish. She carded rounds of 83, 87, 80, and 86 to finish at +48.

Clark, who finished sixth OCAAs, put forth a consistent effort through her four rounds, carding scores of 95, 98, 93, and 97 to finish at +95.

The national championship marked the end of the collegiate golf season. For Fanshawe’s women’s team, it was their most successful season of the 2020s
