Knights Top Ranked Team in Canada, Griffith Keeps Scoring
The last time the London Knights were ranked number 1 in the nation was in 2004-2005 when the team won a Memorial Cup title in front of their home crowd in London. This season, the Knights are a perfect 5-0.
Griffith is leading the Knights in scoring early this season with 11 points in only 5 games, and sits among the top 5 scorers in the league. The Wallaceburg native received a boost early this season after having a strong camp with the Tampa Bay Lightning, and performing with Team Canada’s Under-18 squad last spring after his Knights were eliminated from the playoffs.
Fox, who is hoping his personal issues that held him out of training camp early this season are behind him, has 5 points in 5 games this season.
On paper the Knights look very strong with star prospects including defensemen Jarred Tinordi, Scott Harrington and Olli Matta, goaltender Michael Houser, and forwards Vladislav Namestnikov, Jared Knight, and Griffith, along with highly touted rookies Bo Horvat and Max Domi.
London next faces the Windsor Spitfires at the JLC tonight (Friday).
