This past weekend Chatham-Kent Chaos volleyball club 17U girls team played in the Ontario Volleyball Association Trillium A Provincial Cup tournament. The Chaos had a great weekend capturing their 2nd Gold Medal of the season with 10 wins and 2 losses.

The Chaos began tournament play by losing to the Oxford Crush 16(Ingersoll) in 2 straight sets, then rebounding to destroy the Waterloo Tigers White in straight sets to finish 2nd in pool play.

In play-off action the Chaos continued their winning streak going undefeated against Sarnia Twin Bridges, South County 17, and South County 16, which set up a rematch with the same Oxford Crush team that they previously lost to in the Gold Medal match. In the first game the Chaos came out on fire and determined to avenge their previous loss winning 25-16. The second set played out much closer as both traded leads, and after being down 17-21, the Chaos fought back to tie set at 22-22 before going on to win 25-23 with key blocks from Mariet Wierenga and Jillian Anderson.

Tournament MVP was Summer Eastcott with her strong play at the net providing key blocks and decisive kills. The Chaos has now ran their season record to 18-4. With this tournament victory the Chaos will move up to the Championship Division.
