- Dane Fox Wins OHL Player of the Week – Thamesville’s Dane Fox continued to lead the OHL in goal scoring, capping off his incredible month of November by winning Player of the Week honours.
- Michael Verboom Commits to Mercyhurst – Ripping up the GOJHL in scoring, Chatham Maroons captain Michael Verboom made an NCAA Division I hockey commitment to the Mercryhurst University Lakers.
- Chad Laprise To Appear on The Ultimate Fighter: Nations – Chatham’s Chad Laprise, will represent Canada, and fight for a position in the UFC, appearing on the television series, The Ultimate Fighter: Nations.
- Fox, Konecny Win OHL Monthly Honour – Dane Fox was named the OHL Player of the Month, while Travis Konecny was the OHL Rookie of the Month, marking the first time two Chatham-Kent products won major OHL honours in the same month.
- Whitson Wins Another Gold – Chatham’s Derek Whitson and the Canadian Men’s Sledge Hockey team won another gold medal, this time at the World Sledge Hockey Challenge in Toronto.
- Frank Dymock Passes Away – Legendary Wallaceburg resident Frank Dymock, who was integral in the Wallaceburg sports community, passed away at age 82 on December 13, 2013.
- Kings Fire Swayze – After struggling for the first half of the Great Lakes Junior C season, the Dresden Kings fired head coach Marc Swayze, and replaced him with assistant Don Johnston.
- Chatham Maroons End Year Hot – The Chatham Maroons ended 2013 with a nine game winning streak, powered by the incredible play of Kyle Brothers. In seven December games, Brothers scored 24 points.
