Griffith and Stonehouse camping with the Oilers
The Edmonton Oilers will have two players from Chatham-Kent on their roster as they open their training camp this week.
Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith and Blenheim’s Brady Stonehouse are the 55 players (6 goaltenders, 16 defencemen and 33 forwards) in the Oilers camp.
Edmonton’s eight-game preseason schedule begins on Sunday, September 21 with split-squad action against the Calgary Flames before home and away matchups against the Winnipeg Jets, Seattle Kraken and Vancouver Canucks.
Griffith has been with the Edmonton organization since 2020, has appeared in 80 NHL games with Boston, Florida, Toronto, Buffalo and Edmonton.
Last year, playing for Bakersfield in the AHL, Griffith was tied for second in the league with 72 points, just one point behind the league leader.
Stonehouse finished up his four-year OHL career last season, and also made his pro debut playing seven games with Bakersfield.
