Sarnia Sting pick Wheatley’s Brody Brown in OHL draft

Wheatley’s Brody Brown was the first Chatham-Kent player selected in this weekend’s Ontario Hockey League draft.

The Sarnia Sting picked Brown in the third round, 43rd overall. Brown is six-foot-three and 178 pounds.

Brown, who will turn 16 year-old next month, has played AAA hockey the past two years with the Vaughn Kings in the Greater Toronto Hockey League. This past season, Brown had 35 points in 33 games (seven goals, 28 assists).

In the OHL Cup, Brown had three goals and three assists in four games. His Vaughn teammate Kane Cloutier was chosen first overall pick in the OHL draft by the Oshawa Generals, while Adrian Sgro, another Vaughn teammate of Brown’s, was picked by the Sting in the first round, fifth overall..
