Baker named GOHL’s Western Conference player of the week

Chatham Maroons rookie Andrew Baker is on pace for a historic season.
If he keeps up his scoring pace, he will finish the regular season with 50 goals and 150 assists for 200 points. That’s Brian Wiseman territory.
Okay, okay, he has only played in two games, but those two games have shown off Baker’s offensive ability.
He was named the GOHL’s Western Conference player of the week for his work in the Maroons’ first two games.
The rookie forward from Woodslee led all Western Conference scorers with eight points.
A ninth round pick by the Guelph Storm in 2025, Baker scored the game-winner and added two assists in the Maroons’ season-opening 4-1 win in London on Wedenesday. He followed that up with a five-point effort (goal, four assists) in Chatham’s 6-2 victory over Komoka in their home-opener on Sunday.
Baker played last year with the Essex 73s.
