Griffith and Stonehouse going camping with the Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers opened their 2026 training camp on September 16 with two Chatham-Kent hockey players attending,

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith and Blenheim’s Brady Stonehouse are among with 56 players in attendance (31 forwards, 17 defencemen and eight goalies) competing for a roster spot.

Griffith was the top scorer and captain of Edmonton’s AHL team the Bakersfield Condors last season. Griffith has appeared in 80 NHL games with Edmonton, Buffalo, Florida, Toronto and Boston.

Last year was Stonehouse’s first full year as a pro. He spent the majority of his time with the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets. He appeared in nine games with Bakersfield.

The Oilers begin their regular season on Sept. 29 against the Vancouver Canucks.

The team’s four-game preseason schedule begins this Saturday, September 21 in a visit to Rogers Place from the Winnipeg Jets before continuing their exhibition slate with road tune-ups on the 22nd and 24th against the Jets and Canucks. The Oilers conclude the preseason on Sept. 26 at home against the Calgary Flames.
